
The Lincoln Motor Company realized a 10 percent increase in United States sales during 2016, delivering in the company's best sales performance in nine years.
The double-digit improvement came during a year when overall sales for luxury car segment increased less than 1 percent. United States growth was driven by strong performance in such vital luxury markets as New York (13 percent gain), Florida (10 percent gain) and New Jersey (9 percent gain).
Lincoln finished the year with a strong performance as December 2016 sales improved 18 percent over December 2015. Sales of the all-new 2017 Lincoln Continental pushed the month's performance, registering 64 percent of the December growth.
For December, 1845 Lincoln Continental vehicles were sold, a solid increase from November’s 1,419 vehicles sold, and outperformed the Lexus GS and Audi A6 according to sales results released by the respective manufacturers.
