When George Munro first saw the 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Club Coupe under a tree in Newburyport, Massachusetts, he saw past the shell to the potential it held. He'd been looking to take on a Lincoln restoration project, and this vehicle – which was missing its fenders, hood and doors, with only half of an engine -- was absolutely that.

The Lincoln Motor Company realized a 10 percent increase in United States sales during 2016, delivering in the company's best sales performance in nine years.

The double-digit improvement came during a year when overall sales for luxury car segment increased less than 1 percent. United States growth was driven by strong performance in such vital luxury markets as New York (13 percent gain), Florida (10 percent gain) and New Jersey (9 percent gain).
